How does pricing work?
We walk the property with you, then follow up with a written estimate. Estimates and design consultations are free.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Cardinal Ridge is licensed, bonded and insured. Documentation is available on request.
Do you give a price on the spot?
No. We walk the property, take measurements and notes, then send a written estimate so the price is clear and complete.
What hours do you keep?
Our office and crews work Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm.
Do you work on commercial properties?
Yes. We work on both residential and commercial properties.
Who will I be dealing with?
One point of contact from the first call to the final walkthrough.

Lawns and planting.
Do I have to sign up for a full maintenance package?
No. Packages are built around the property, from mowing only to full lawn and bed care.
When do you aerate and overseed?
Early fall, when soil is warm, nights are cool and new grass has two good growing seasons ahead of it.
When is the best time to plant?
Fall and spring. Fall is especially good for trees, shrubs and grass seed.
Do you install what you design?
Yes. Design, installation and maintenance are all handled by Cardinal Ridge.
Do you repair irrigation systems?
Yes. We handle spring start-ups, winterization and repairs on existing systems.
Trees and stumps.
How do I know whether a tree should come down?
Large dead limbs, a lean that has changed, cracks in the trunk or mushrooms at the base are all worth a look. We will tell you honestly whether it can be pruned and kept.
Do you clean up afterwards?
Yes. Brush is chipped, wood is hauled away unless you ask to keep it, and the area is raked.
Will you grind a stump from a tree someone else removed?
Yes. It does not matter who took the tree down or how long ago.
How deep do you grind?
Below the soil surface, deep enough to grow grass or lay sod over the spot.
Hardscapes and snow.
What kinds of patio do you build?
Stamped concrete, flagstone, bluestone and pavers, along with walks, steps, seat walls and fire pits.
Do I need a retaining wall or just regrading?
It depends on the slope and where the water goes. We look at both and recommend the simpler fix when it will do the job.
Can you help with HOA approval?
We can provide the drawing, materials and details most associations ask for. Approval itself comes from your HOA.
Do you build pergolas?
Not at the moment.
Do you plow residential driveways?
Not currently. Our snow service is for commercial properties only.
