Thick green turf mowed in long stripes

Lawn fertilization for thicker, greener turf.

Seasonal feeding, aeration, overseeding and topdressing for lawns in Aldie, Leesburg, Chantilly and across Northern Virginia.

Lawn Fertilizer Services

Feed the soil, and the lawn follows.

Northern Virginia sits in the transition zone, where summers are hard on cool-season grass and clay soil compacts easily. A lawn here needs feeding at the right times and help in the fall to recover.

We time fertilization to the way tall fescue and bluegrass actually grow, with the heaviest feeding in the fall when roots are building. Pair it with core aeration, overseeding and topdressing and a thin, tired lawn will look different within a season.

Fertilization can stand alone or be part of a full lawn maintenance package.

What The Program Covers

A year of feeding and repair.

  • Seasonal fertilization

Applications through the growing season, weighted toward fall.

  • Core aeration

Plugs pulled to relieve compaction and let air, water and nutrients reach the roots.

  • Overseeding

Quality seed put down straight after aeration, when it has the best chance.

  • Topdressing

Compost or topsoil spread thinly to improve clay and level minor low spots.

  • Lawn renovation

Bare and worn-out areas prepared and re-established from seed or sod.

  • Plain advice

Mowing height and watering guidance, because those matter as much as the product.

Good Questions

Asked about lawn feeding.

When should a lawn be fertilized in Northern Virginia?

For cool-season grass, fall is the most important feeding, with lighter applications in spring. Heavy fertilizer in summer heat does more harm than good.

Should I aerate and overseed every year?

On clay soil with regular foot traffic, yearly fall aeration and overseeding is the single most useful thing you can do for the lawn.

What is topdressing?

A thin layer of compost or topsoil spread over the lawn, usually after aeration. It improves the soil and helps new seed take.

Can I add this to weekly mowing?

Yes. Most clients bundle fertilization into a maintenance package.

How does pricing work?
