Climber high in a tree during a sectional removal

What to Expect From Tree Removal in Manassas

A practical guide from Cardinal Ridge Landscape + Tree, based in Aldie and working in Manassas.

Having a large tree removed is not something most people do often. Here is how a well-run job goes.

The estimate

Someone looks at the tree, what is around it and how equipment can reach it. You should receive a written estimate that says what is included: the removal, cleanup, haul-away, and whether the stump is ground.

On the day

In a yard with a house, fence or lines nearby, a climber takes the tree down in sections. Pieces are roped and lowered under control, not dropped.

Cleanup

Brush is chipped, logs are cut and hauled unless you want to keep the wood, and the lawn is raked.

The stump

Grinding is usually quoted separately so you can decide. If you want grass or a new plant there, have it ground.

Questions worth asking

Are you insured, including workers' compensation? Who will be on site? How will you protect the lawn and beds? A professional will have ready answers.
